School Sport Partnerships (SSPs) are groups of Primary and Secondary Schools working together to develop high quality PE and sport opportunities that are fully inclusive and meet the needs of ALL young people.

Our partnership is hosted by Handsworth Grange Community Sports College and our member schools are:-

Secondary - Birley Community College, The City School, Handsworth Grange Community Sports College, King Ecgbert School

Primary - Athelstan Primary, Ballifield Primary, Birley Community Primary, Birley Spa Primary, Brunswick Primary, Charnock Hall Primary, Dore Primary, Gleadless Primary, Hallam Primary, Intake Primary, Lower Meadow Primary, Lowfield Primary, Lydgate Infant Primary, Lydgate Junior Primary, Nether Edge Primary, Netherthorpe Primary, Rainbow Forge Primary, St Josephs RC Primary, Stradbroke Primary, Totley All Saints Primary, Totley Primary, Woodhouse West Primary, Woodthorpe Primary

Our partnership currently consists of:

• 1 Specialism Development Manager (SDM)

• 4 School Sport Co-ordinators (SSCos)

• 23 Primary Link Teachers (PLTs)

• 1 Competition and Talent Officer (CTO)

• 1 Participation and Engagement Officer (PEO)

• 1 Primary Liason Officer (PLO)

A SDM is a full-time role based within Handsworth Grange Sports College. They manage the SSP and develop strategic links with key partners in sport and the wider community. They also have responsibility for co-ordinating the implementation of the new 'School Games' Competition structure.

An SSCo is based in a secondary school and concentrates on improving intra and inter competitive school sport opportunities linked to the School Games within the Secondary and feeder Primary schools.

PLTs are based in primary and special schools and aim to improve the quality of PE and sport in their own schools as well co-ordinating the participation within intra and inter competitive school sport through the School Games.
